The Fall Winter 2013 runways saw a beautiful mix of natural makeup and over the top black graphic lined eyes for drama. But whether you’re a girl next door or a sexy siren, here are 5 looks worth trying at home.
Heavily, or less heavily lined eyes have edged their way back into fashion since the vintage revival we have been experiencing the past few seasons. The Fall Winter 2013 collections saw a collection of extraordinary make up based on one concept: the eyeliner.
Pens at the ready: here are 5 looks you will want to imitate.
Aquascutum
Want something a bit more edgy than the typical cat eyes? Well then take inspiration from Aquascutum, and create a geometric twist to your usual eyeliner. More eye opening than eye lengthening this make up will accentuate your best feature.
Altuzarra
For a grungier alternative, draw parallel lines over the lid like in the Altuzarra fashion show. Like train tracks, the lines need to be exactly parallel, so this isn’t an easy look to master. But after a few practice runs you’ll get heads turning for sure.
Lanvin
Exaggerate the lined look and turn it into eye shadow, almost, like at Lanvin. Scoop the eyeliner in a nice winged effect and fill in. Perfect for those days where you need your gaze to be even more piercing.
Mary
Katrantzou
Go bold, with your eyeliner. At Mary Katrantzou, in an effort to match the kaleidoscopic prints which made up the collection, the eyeliner is geometric, and yes bold. Get practicing this look for a special event, or a happening party.
D
Squared
Sometimes classic is best. For an everyday look, displayed at D Squared, line the eyes with liquid eyeliner to create a cat-eye effect. Define the bottom lash line too and pile on the mascara. Once you adopt this day look you won’t want to go without it.
