Laetita Casta and Noah Mills are the protagonists of the advertisement campaign for the Dolce&Gabbana Pour Femme and Pour Homme fragrances. Mario Testino’s eye is key in creating a vivid and romantic clip where the line between reality and fantasy is blurred by love.
The setting is thoroughly Italian, Sicilian to be exact: small cobbled streets, a group which plays traditional music, a wedding… all things that represent both Italy and the South with its religious affiliation, traditions and positive energy.
A beautiful young woman is present at the wedding and partaking in the joyous mood when suddenly she slips away, unnoticed. Laetitia Casta with her Mediterranean beauty and magnetism embodies the characteristic, yet unique Italian woman.
A lover? A chance encounter? Noah Mills, handsome, charismatic and very Sicilian, despite his Canadian passport, virtually steals Laetitia from the town and festivities and takes her to a world of transgression and passion.
Mario Testino’s realistic and sensitive lens translates into film a passion for the art, and the subject, which blends in with the passion displayed by the two protagonists. An Italian song, Mina’s Cittá Vuota (Empty City) provides the soundtrack to this enigmatic love story.
