Velvet Desire: A Renaissance scent

The fifth instalment in a series of videos that lures you into the Velvet Collection, Dolce&Gabbana’s haute perfumerie fragrances. Let’s discover what inspired the creation of Velvet Desire.

An unusual floral scent, Velvet Desire is an explosion of gardenia and tuberose, with a hint of frangipani for a sophisticated edge. The essence of femininity, the scent exudes sensuality and understated provocation. The gardenia, is an almost narcotic scent which is impossible to ignore, much like the signature Dolce&Gabbana dresses, feminine, luxurious and head turning. The frangipani essence adds a solar, luminous edge to the scent, anchoring it in the Mediterranean theme. While the tuberose a favourite scent of iconic Renaissance ladies such as Lucrezia Borgia and Isabella d’Este, lends a historic note to the fragrance. Tuberose, with its reputation as an olfactory aphrodisiac, anchors Velvet Desire as an intensely feminine scent.
