Summer is nearing the end and thoughts turn to Autumn, and autumn fashion. But once the tan has faded and the days become shorter and colder, the need for make up inversely grows. Here is a low-down of the beauty trends for the coming winter.
Gone are the days of the jewel colour eye shadows, bright orange lips and peacock green nail polishes. This winter’s fashion is all about ladylike elegance, and the make up trends drive home the point.
Natural
is the buzzword for the season’s make up. Glowing downy skin, perfect but not
airbrushed. For this effect the Dolce&Gabbana creamy foundation is the best
starting point. Faultless skin at the ready. For more options the Lace
collection is based on natural hues only, from nail polish to lip-gloss. When
complexion lies at the base of your winter look, details like highlighting blush
are all important. Highly reflective ingredients in illuminating blush like the
lace collection one, will lend the cheeks a healthy and slightly shimmering glow
that will shine with youth.
A
natural look doesn’t mean no make up. Once you’ve got the skin just right its
time to pass onto the eyes. Tricks like natural coloured eye shadow with a touch
of golden or pearled pigment will open the eye up and give you those all
important doe eyes. This season’s Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Nude has them all.
Darker hues are also important for the season’s make up looks. The string Sixties inspiration to the season and ladylike allure is interpreted also with the smokey eye effect. To get it right you’re gonna need the right tools as well as make up. The Dolce&Gabbana brushes come to your rescue.
When
you think Sixties, you think eyeliner, and when you think eyeliner and Sixties
you think Twiggy. Accentuate those eyes with black eyeliner. Lay it on thick for
a dramatic look, or use some kohl from the Kohl collection for a more muted make
up.
The
ladylike fashion of the season demands for red lipstick. All hues work, from
brick red to lacca red, and burgundy. The Monica Lipstick Collection has all
ladylike hues and is creamy and sensual.
