We’ve always known Milan was a chic city – but a forthcoming extraordinary exhibition created and curated by American Vogue confirms it.
How to celebrate the launch of a new make-up collection? How about with American Vogue and an extraordinary exhibition at Milan’s Palazzo della Ragione?
Opening on March 4th during Milan’s autumn/winter 2009 womenswear fashion week, Dolce & Gabbana will celebrate their new make-up line with “Extreme Beauty in Vogue” – an exhibition created and curated by fashion authority American Vogue in a Milanese space designed and art-directed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel.
The forthcoming must-see exhibition investigates the role of beauty in modern culture. Through an outstanding series of images from the past 75 years of American Vogue, the world’s greatest photographers of the last two centuries explore the concept of beauty.
Think Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Irving Penn and Steven Klein amongst other greats, in a collection of almost 100 images that reveal the complex attitudes towards female appearance and self-impression – all showcased under the artful eye of American Vogue.
Putting your lipstick on will never be the same again.
