MUSIC! 10 classic tracks for your summer

It is Beach Week here at Swide and we have selected some classic tracks, old and new, to see you through these hot hot days that we have in the coming months. Bliss!

Call it the “Swide’s Summer Soundtrack”, if you will; we have rifled through the world of sun kissed beats, old and new, to bring you a diverse selection of treats to take you through Summer 2011.

For those who want to sing through their summer with Mowtown feelings, why not start with this classic by Martha and the Vandellas.

If that hasn’t given you an instant hit of joy then there is something clearly wrong with you. But if you need more persuading then try out a surfer’s must from the Beach Boys and get shaking to “Surfin USA.”

And how could we forget a chant for true loves and friends alike, a hit from Grease that can be heard on nearly every radio for us to sing-along to “Summer Nights.”

I think these looks from Dolce&Gabbana for women would look perfect for those who like to feel sexy with a retro twist.

For those who want to add a slight shuffle to what they listen to then the funk of the 70s and the shoulder pads of the 80s is what you need. Donna Summers is where you should begin with the belter Hot Stuff to get anyone and everyone performing the faithful thrust in every disco, on every beach and worrying in cars whilst driving.

And speaking of hot stuff, taking a look at David Gandy sporting Dolce&Gabbana’s SS11 beachwear inspired my next choices.

And so did the women who want to impress the David Gandy in their lives then check out how you can stay on top of your game with D&G's SS11 beachwear looks below.

And for those of you who are listening to their classics on an iPod or iPhone, you can make sure that you are hands free at all times with one of these essential carriers from Dolce&Gabbana.

Now that we are all feeling sexy in our beach wear let's see what is next on the list of aural pleasures. “I’m Your Man’ by Wham! teamed with Billy Idol’s “Hot in the City” will make you strut and sing-along until your tongue goes and dry and you got to sit down for a moment before hitting the  beach. For those who are in need for a little rock then there is always Led Zeppelin!

Then to tie up “Swide’s Summer Soundtrack” we have some modern classics send you on your way into heaven this year. To entice you I have selected two amazing chilled out numbers from the late 90s that were huge crowd pleasers at the time. The first being Bran Van 3000’s “Drinking in LA”, not that I am encouraging the act of drinking in LA, and then quickly followed by Len’s “Steal my Sunshine”, a song that has featured at the beginning of many BBQs to get the guests going.

Vampire Weekend’s “White Sky” is a must have on your list, both, because it is a great feeling song and also because of the popularity of Vampires these last few years. A+B= a real crowd pleaser. Then get the summer feeling running through your veins with this modern classic by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. Try not to nod your head and sing along, for me it is impossible.

So, there we have it. Swide’s Summer Soundtrack a little bit of something for all I hope. Just incase you missed any the list is below for you to pass your eager eyes over.

Martha and the Vandellas – Heatwave

Beach Boys – Surfin’ USA

Grease OST – Summer Nights

Donna Summers – Hot Stuff

Wham! – I’m Your Man

Billy Idol – Hot in the City

Led Zeppelin -  Whole Lotta Love

Bran Van 3000 – Drinking in LA

Don't think the above list can't be mixed and matched because it certainly can. Here is one more for you to relax to from Beirut. Enjoy.
