Mood Swings: Summer fling, don’t mean a thing

At the risk of sounding beyond my years, this week is all about the good old times again. And where will these good times be taking place? On the beach of course!!!

From Grease onwards, but most probably even before that, everyone has always dreamt of Those Summer Nights: a chance meeting with a beautiful stranger while walking down the shore, splashing around and getting friendly down on the sand (ahem!). That was when the look you gave someone still meant something, a carefully planned touch of the hand was a confession and you could still choose to shamelessly lie about yourself.

The chance meeting on the shore has been replaced by controlling who checks in at the beach on Foursquare, a meaningful stare is now a private message and creating a new alluring persona for yourself has been made impossible by complete background checks on Facebook. Somehow summer lovin’ has just become a new frontier for online dating.

So while you’re sunbathing, tweeting, texting, uploading, updating and damning the sun (cause you can’t see your iPhone screen) listen to this. It might just get you in the mood to turn your mobile off and go show off, splashing around.
