Introducing Andrea Ratti! Our new columnist who is going to sharing his music selections every Friday evening with 'Moodswings', an article that proves that there is a song for every feeling. This week: Dressing-room Drama...
It’s a fact: when you’re getting ready to go out, you’re at your absolute worst. That’s why there’s locks on bathroom doors and scalding showers provide steam to confuse possible onlookers.
In my case, but I know I’m far from alone, it gets all the more embarrassing. Since dancing has apparently been banished from clubs (when did people stop having fun?) and anyway I’m a bit too conscious of my lack of coordination, my favourite moment to dance it out has always been that half hour (yeah, right) between the shower and the front door.
“Dance like no-one’s watching” – one of the phrases I love most. It usually entails easy club-dance beats, a set of moves you wouldn’t even dare talk about in public and avoiding mirrors. I’ve never been a fan of singing into combs and other hairstyling apparatus, but hey, who am I to judge.
Recently my choice song for this circus of gaucherie has been Loverush! Uk’s remix of “Beat of my drum” by Nicola Roberts. It’s easy, it’s energetic, it’s just fun. Not to mention she’s a redhead (personal fetish, nothing to do with music) and even I could pull off her choreography.
NB: please avoid shaving or ironing while listening to this.
