And she’s back! Florrie’s new video for ‘Shot You Down’, the first single off her new EP, is out. Swide didn’t think that they could feel prouder of Florrie when we listened to ‘Late’ but then we just saw the new video. Check it out.
The darling of Swide is taking no prisoners with her brand new video for ‘Shot You Down’; shot in classic black and white, the pop starlet is clearly not taking any sh**. Love hurts, and Florrie isn’t letting her heart get broken, taking the matter in to her own hands and saying that she, ‘pulled the trigger on our love, keep messing me around. Got my finger on the gun, bang bang I shot you down’. That’s fighting talk, that is, and judging by the way the singer/songwriter is battering those drums, she means business.
The song is a battle cry for those of us who are caught up in troubled love or have been hurt by it before, letting the video echo and reinforce the unwillingness to be messed around by a lover. As the song reaches its climax, so does the challenging demeanour of Florrie’s attitude in the video, letting us know that she is taking charge. Shot in London and directed by Tom Gallon, this video is a welcome return to one of pop’s most promising acts.
