After Swide discovered the talents of Florrie it wasn’t long before the pop starlet felt like part of the family. Now, with the release of her new EP ‘Late’, it’s no surprise that we are feeling proud and rather excited for the multi-talented musician.
‘Late’ finally got its digital release on the 31st May and has been keeping the fans of Florrie more than happy. 9 months in the making, ‘Late’ showcases her style and what the 23 year old has picked as she grown on the music scene. Once an in house session drummer at Xenomania for the likes of Kylie Minogue and Girls Aloud, it wasn’t long until her debut EP, ‘Introduction’ (2010) was released and Swide got a hold of her.

Fast forward two years, the release of her 2nd EP, ‘Experiments’ (2011) saw her popularity on the pop scene soar and the playfulness in which she approached her videos, won over the hearts of more than just a few. Now, 2012, sees the release of her 3rd and final EP as an independent artist, having revealed that, on the 23rd May, she signed a deal with a major record label… can you see why we feel like proud parents?! Oh, and that’s not the only thing that was revealed; on Twitter, you can see that she has already being retweeted by big holly wood stars. I’m talking about, Swide favourite, Chloe Moretz. Take a look:
So, the EP, ‘Late’. As Swide said, this is the 3rd and last EP that Florrie will release independently, and it is a celebration of what the multitalented artist has achieved to date. With her voice sounding stronger than ever, her trademark take on electropop/indietronic beats present (especially on ‘To the End’) and the fact that she is as grateful as ever, ‘Late’ mashes 90s sounding dance tunes (Every Inch) with acoustic pumped pop rhythms (Gonna Get You Back), is a brave and well crafted farewell to her stint as an independent artist.
She was so excited about its release, she wrote:
This new EP is the most interesting and best stuff I had from the new songs I’ve written that weren’t the other two big tracks I mentioned before. I am SOOOO proud of the work, and I want to say a massive thanks to the team, who have stuck with me writing and making these records! This EP has been made in Kent, Shoreditch, Portland and LA! I know you guys have waited a long time for this, but I really feel like it’s gonna be worth the wait. And of all the EP names I came up with, along with your ideas too, at the end of the day, the most appropriate name, and the name I’ve chosen, is… “LATE” :) I think it’s pretty perfect…because it is so LATE!
Followed by this comment she made on the day of its release:
HERE IT IS...my new EP 'Late' is out TODAY! It's been a long time coming... and I hope you LOVE it as much as I do :) It will be on iTunes worldwide in the next few hours (depending where you are in the world) but if you just can't wait that long you can listen to all 4 tracks here.
I want to say A BIG THANK YOU for your all your support... this is my last independent release, so let's make it the best yet! And if you wanna spread the love , please go to my Facebook Page and share with your friends.
Happy listening... X
There is no doubt that there are big things to come for Florrie and you can guarentee that Swide will be supporting her all the way.
