Kylie Minogue has had a very very good week indeed. Sparkling brighter than ever at the Cannes Film Festival premier of ‘Holy Motors’, wearing Dolce&Gabbana, and then causing explosive reaction throughout the internet when her new single and video ‘Timebomb’ was dropped today.
I was enjoying my usual morning cup of coffee, looking at my breakfast less than impressed, when my phone started receiving updates regarding a particular pop icon. Kylie Minogue had kept to her word, saying that she'd drop her new single if ‘#KylieTimebomb’ was tweeted enough and, at 7am UK time, that is exactly what happened, ‘Timebomb’ was unleashed upon the world. The Goddess of Pop has implemented elements of electronic minimalism, as found on her smash hit, award winning album ‘Fever’, and also the distorted crunched beats that highlighted her album ‘X’, creating an electro-pop rush that is going to carry us through the Summer. And, as if that wasn’t enough, it was also accompanied by a raunchy music video, in which a certain asset of hers is as pert as ever, her bum. No gold hot pants here, though. The ‘Timebomb’ video, directed by music/fashion video oracle Christian Larson, sees her posterior in low-rising denim cut-offs, later being replaced by… well, basically nothing… exactly, no one is complaining about that.
The 43-year-old star is looking better than ever and it would seem that the fact that she is celebrating 25 years of her pop career has given her a burst of euphoria, which she takes to the streets of Soho in her video. Apparently the video was shot during April and it sees Kylie strutting her stuff through Soho, using camera phones, dancing for her life in back alley clubs, as a passenger fist pumping her way through the streets of London and finally doing a strip tease for a motorbike, naturally. This video is sure to get hearts racing, hips shifting and fans all over world begging for more.
Kylie Minogue sparkles in Dolce&Gabbana at the Cannes Film Festival premier of 'Holy Motors'
Her look for the video is a far cry from the one that she was seen sporting at the Cannes Film Festival Premier of ‘Holy Motors’, where she looked perfect in gold sequins and accessories.
Kylie will performing this song for the first time this Sunday 27 May on The Voice UK on BBC1. Then, the Goddess of Pop will be performing again in England for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on 4 June at Buckingham Palace (I’m sure they’ll be more than one queen there that day).
It goes without saying that Swide is very happy to see the return of Miss Kylie Minogue!
