Mood Swings is back from his holidays with amazing news, ‘The end of this summer has been a turning point for a brand new chapter of my life, and a very exciting one too: I am now the (very) proud uncle of a baby boy.’
My brother and his wife live in Mexico City, so that's where I went to meet our new family member. The city is famous for it's extension, which truly is mind-boggling - you can appreciate its size while approaching the airport on your flight. A whole valley, once occupied by a lake, now carpeted with constructions as far as the eye can see. An urban sprawl like no other.
Arcade Fire
There as so many sides to the city that it's hard to decide whether I like it or not, and whether I'd like living there…sometimes it feels like you're in Beverly Hills and others like you're in a rural middle-American town. It's strange but not entirely unpleasant, if it wasn't for the fact that all those different realities rarely ever meet, creating a society that's sternly divided socially and economically.
Die Antwoord
I can't wait to see who and what my nephew will grow up to be. Since I really CAN'T wait, I'll probably be taking frequent trips to Mexico… which means I have to find a road to wealth quickly, but that's another story.
He'll only be 18 by 2030, which is sort of weird and makes me feel old all of a sudden. I'm already feeling inappropriate if I think I might have even a small part in his upbringing, but at least I can get some good music into his life.
