Spiga 2: Introducing Daniele Carlotta

The Spiga 2 Dolce&Gabbana boutique is a launch platform for talented up and coming designers. For SS12, Dolce&Gabbana have selected an exciting collection of talented youngsters. Featured from the roster this week: Daniele Carlotta.

Daniele Carlotta was born in Sicily in 1985. He grew up amongst textiles as his mother was one of the most prominent dealers in the town. The environment in which he grew up helped Carlotta to gain a thorough understanding of materials, but also of style. After graduating as a fashion designer and stylist, Carlotta opened his atelier in 2005. The brand is inspired by the concept of Make up: a mask that preserves the fragility of a woman and perpetuates an armour of strength. Carlotta describes his creations not as clothes, but as packaging, while the essence is the woman herself.
