The Spiga 2 Dolce&Gabbana boutique is a launch platform for talented up and coming designers. For SS12, Dolce&Gabbana have selected an exciting collection of talented youngsters. Featured from the roster this week: Il Sistema Degli Oggetti.
Caterina Coccioli and Alessandro Manzi, the names behind menswear label Il Sistema Degli Oggetti meet in 2002 while studying at the Politecnico in Milan. From the start they discovered their shared passion for fashion history and symbolism. In 2009 their vision comes to life under the name Il Sistema Degli Oggetti with a network of artisan laboratories to produce their first menswear collection. In 2011 Caterina and Alessandro were finalist in the Who is Next competition hosted by Vogue Italia.
Il Sistema Degli Oggetti is an interesting interpretation of the symbolic uniforms worn throughout history. From the youth revolution to the Sixties, to Eighties Venice Beach typical outfits are reworked with contemporary technical fabrics and innovative materials.
