The Spiga 2 Dolce&Gabbana boutique is a launch platform for talented up and coming designers. For SS12, Dolce&Gabbana have selected an exciting collection of talented youngsters. Featured from the roster this week: Corrado de Biase.
Corrado
was born in Bari in 1977 Corrado and graduated in Fashion and Design at the
Istituto Europeo del Design in Rome. After that he was design assistant to
Silvia Venturini Fendi for the Fendi mens-womens footwear collections. After a
stint there he moved to Paris to Yves Saint Laurent, where he assisted a
Francesco Russo and Stefano Pilati. In 2008, he worked with John Galliano as
head of the mens-womens footwear lines, and in 2010 he became head of footwear
at Rochas.
Corrado’s resumé reads as a who’s who if 21st century fashion. He launched his first Haute Couture collection in Rome in 2010 and his first ready-to-wear collection in Paris the same year. His eponymous ready to wear lines is lyrical and sweetly punk with deconstructions and singular explorations of materials, colours and volumes. Corrado was chosen in 2011 as one of the young talents to watch by Italian Vogue at the Who is Next competition.
