Maria Elena Tiacci imbues her ironic yet pungent vision onto the backstage images from the Campioni photo book shoot. Swide Festival showcases her video amongst other emerging talents of this media.
Maria Elena Tiacci is a trained industrial designer who moved into the world of filmmaking after university. She is a writer, video editor and director, and in 2012 she set up with Tomaso Fasola the Momento Produzioni snc based in Milan. She loves to project, to tell stories, to imagine and to show.
Fast paced and a little ironically, a champion, one behind the other, a rhythmical game of layering, substitution, discovery and surprise. The rip is an ironic gesture which reminds us of the glossy realm of fashion magazines, split with stolen moments of intimacy, which allow us to capture elements of the man, the character, the life behind the cover image.
Ironic and visually interetsing, Maria Elena Tiacci’s video for Swide Festival looks to emulate poke fun at the concept of the footballers being cover stars, but also looks to reveal their more intimate thoughts through their hidden actions, legitimising them more as individuals and not just icons.
