The corner of Via Spiga and Corso Venezia was brought to a stand still as the Boys in the Band took to the stage at Spiga2. We were there to see what went on and see what happens when music meets fashion for the first time.
The Dolce&Gabbana Spiga2 store was the place to be on Sunday 19th June as the boys took to the stage and played amazing cover versions of some of the music world's most famous songs. The streets outside joined in with the event and for those who couldn't squeeze into the packed store took their positions at the windows. Here we have exclusive photos and video footage from the event to give those who couldn't attend a taste of what happened and to those who made it a welcome reminder of a night where music and fashion collided with epic results.
The set list included "I'm waiting for my Man" by Velvet Underground, a fantastic rework of The Cure's "Let's go to Bed" and a version of Donna Summers' "I Feel Love" that got the whole crowd moving and even raising their hands to feel the beats! You must remember that the concept of the event meant that the musicians hadn't worked together musically before and had only a few rehearsals to get the sound together before the performance and that the Spiga2 designers were meeting their muses for the first time too. And they certainly blew all expectations out of the store and triumphed as Boys in the Band. Let's see these guys in action and for more info click here!
Diego
Angelico Escobar kept the guys together.
Frances
Mele gave the event some true rock'n'roll.
Cellist
come model, Theo Hall, wowed the audience with the pulsing under to "I Feel
Love".
Smooth
guy Fausto Savatteri picked his way through with
success.
The
vocals from Francesco Violi filled the streets of Milan.
Anders
Christensen made provided the band with awesome bass.
The musicians were not the only stars of the show as you can see below.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were joined by fashion blogger Bryanboy and Anna Dello Russo for a photocall.
Bianca Balti provided some extra welcome beauty to the event and two bloggers, BryanBoy and Katelovesme, were shining like emeralds but making sure that they still had their own style stamped on these amazing looks.
The concept and event were a massive success and the collaboration between the Spiga2 designers and the musicians was perfectly executed. You'll be meeting the designers very soon but for now let the music play. Watch the exclusive footage from the event below.
