The soundtrack to Warhol's screen tests

Released this week "13 Most Beautiful...Songs for Andy Warhol's Screen Tests" features Warhol's classic silent film portraits with a new soundtrack performed by Dean & Britta.

Shot between 1964 and 1966 at Warhol's Factory studio in New York City, the Screen Tests featuring icons such as Nico, Lou Reed, Edie Sedgwick, and Dennis Hopper, and presented with a new music and is the first ever authorized DVD release of films by Andy Warhol.

But who exactly are Dean & Britta?

Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips, are former members of Luna which made 7 studio albums playing their final shows in February 2005. In 2003 Dean and Britta went on to release "L'Avventura ", an album of covers and duets produced by Tony Visconti (Bowie, T. Rex). They went on to create the score for several films, most notably Noah Baumbach's "The Squid & the Whale ".

Their forthcoming live show will be a multi-media presentation, where Dean and Britta perform onstage with their band  while the Warhol films are projected overhead.

13 Most Beautiful is out now on DVD by Plexifilm.
