It's perhaps easier to list the publications, fashion photographer Mario Testino hasn't worked with, but needless to say the world's leading magazines such as Vogue, V, and Vanity Fair are where his work can regularly be spotted. Celebrity subjects include, and perhaps the most famous of them all those photographs of a relaxed Diana, Princess of Wales and her sons.

Other subjects have included actresses such as Kim Basinger, Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and models such as Claudia Schiffer, Gisele Bündchen, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Moss, as well as pop icons such as Janet Jackson and Madonna and fashion houses such as Burberry and Versace and Dolce & Gabbana.

Swide caught up with him during the recent Paris couture shows to ask him more about his life and his work.
