A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival

On now, blogger Diane Pernet (behind cult blog A Shaded View on Fashion) brings the second edition of her fashion film festival to Paris' Palais de Tokyo. Front-row worthy.

Showcasing work by Undercover's Jun Takahashi, photographers Steven Klein & Nick Knight, the films feature cameos from Chloe Sevigny, Roisin Murphy and Dita von Teese A Shaded View on Fashion Film» (ASVOFF) shakes up the old rules of fashion by putting the focus on the moving image, in an industry long dominated by the “still” photographic medium.

The festival's jury is made up of visionaries such as designer Rick Owens, and photographer Nan Goldin who will review the 50 films that feature in this year's competition from the fields of art, film production, fashion, advertising and the media.

Since its premiere in September 2008, the program of short films has travelled to museums and institutions like the Guggenheim Bilbao, Cinema Rise X in Tokyo, the Chelsea Arts Club in London.

This year's entries feature amonght the up-coming hopefuls a host of well-known names such as Chris Cunningham and Erwin Olaf and fashion photographers including Steven Klein, Max Vadukul and Nick Knight.
